The ARTSBRIDGE Story |
|||||||||
|
The region surrounding the Delaware River is
in close proximity to New York and Philadelphia. It is widely known that
this has provided a nourishing climate for creative people. As a nearby
summer retreat for writers, musicians, performers, poets, theatrical producers,
and other artisans, this area has been enriched! The residents of the Delaware
Valley have benefited and welcomed this influence, as small groups of artists
have long gathered together on a social level for discussions and the exploration
of compatible ideas.
From the earliest discussions held by a group of artists in Hunterdon, New Jersey and Bucks County Pennsylvania, there has persisted a goal to provide a network of communications for artists of all disciplines in the area. As a result, Artsbridge was formed to foster communication, encourage, educate, and promote community involvement. This earnest group of about 20 artists, who gathered around the fireplace of a long-time resident artist/writer, has now grown to a thriving membership of over 500+ creative individuals. Meetings have been held every month since September 1993 featuring presentations by artists, professors, musicians, poets, writers, and performers. To further communication, Artsbridge also publishes a quarterly newsletter. Visual artists benefit through several exhibitions each year. The Works on Paper Show, the Annual Juried Exhibition, and the Annual Member Show each provide outstanding opportunities to showcase the best of the visual arts in the area. If you would like to become a part of this exciting organization, click on “Membership Information”. Visit one of our events. The public and prospective members are always welcome. |
