Artsbridge Update

Our Volunteers

Sally Baldino, a watercolorist and representative for painting workshops in Italy, is this year’s Artsbridge Volunteer Coordinator. Anticipating her retirement from a 27-year-long career as a special educator, Sally was looking for a local organization that would welcome her as a volunteer. “My choice was Artsbridge,” says Sally, “because art is something I love.

So, since about August, Sally holds the office of Artsbridge’s Volunteer Coordinator. It is her job to get new as well as more experienced Artsbridge members involved in running the organization. Sally’s is a newly created position at Artsbridge, one aimed to increase our numbers of volunteers, and to improve the communication between Artsbridge members and officers.

Things are going well. Sally says she has had “delighted responses to my first calls to the new members who are interested in volunteering. They were happy that someone acknowledged their membership and their willingness to volunteer.” Thanks for lending a hand, Sally, and may you have a fulfilled retirement!

If you are interested in becoming an Artsbridge volunteer, feel free to call Sally at 215-741-2703.

A warm welcome to other new volunteers: Starting next year, George Golia, already a photographer on the Artsbridge Public Relations committee, Jim Lucas, this year’s Program Chair, and Elizabeth Pituch will be working together as Exhibition Chairpersons for Artsbridge at Prallsville Mills, our annual juried, national show. Carol Church will be our new Program Chair.

We are sorry to say goodbye to this year’s treasurer, Harry Ash, who retired from his position for health reasons. Thanks a lot Harry, you made a big difference in our books!
